Uni urged to provide masks, sanitisers

Letters

UPNG students at the Waigani campus are very vulnerable to the Covid-19.
So far, in the midst of the outbreak in Port Moresby, the entire student body have not been given face masks and hand sanitisers by the UPNG student services and or clinic.
Students are on their semester break but when classes resume this week and day students and open college students start arriving on campus, it will increase the risks of community transmission on campus.
This could lead to possible closure of the 2020 academic year.
Can the VC look into the issue of providing masks and sanitisers to students immediately, as well as enforcing the “new normal” on the campus.
Some of us students are afraid of being infected with the virus which will affect our health and our education.
