CHRISTIANS must continue praying for a fair general election and people should exercise their vote wisely so as to have the right leaders for the country, a group of students said.
They said the 2012 general election “will make or break this nation”.
The Nation Building Entity, a group of Christian students from the University of Technology in Lae, are on a nationwide tour to educate people on voting wisely this year to avoid the country facing more leadership crises.
The self-funded 12-member group is challenging young people not to engage in corrupt electoral activities.
Candidates were also challenged not to take the law into their own hands or manipulate the election process.
The three leadership qualities the group wanted voters to use as selection criteria were that the candidate must:
l    Have a well-managed and well-cared for family unit;
l    Be educated, qualifiied and who can understand the legislative system and pass laws; andl    Be someone of vision, so that that he or she can make wise decisions.
The Nation Building Entity predicts the next batch of parliamentarians will make decisions that will bring positive changes.
The group is embarking on its Momase leg of the tour, followed by the New Guinea Islands.
They will end their awareness exercise in the Southern region.
