Virus, tax issues delay supply: Nali

COVID-19 and taxation issues between the Department of Works and Implementation and the Internal Revenue (IRC) have affected the supply of construction materials for bridges.
Works and Implementation Minister Michael Nali told Parliament yesterday that because of this some overseas suppliers had not received their money, causing delay in the construction of bridges in districts. Obura-Wonenara MP Mehrra Kipefa said the Obura had followed all the processes of applying for a bridge through the Works Department.
Other outstanding bridges are Konofi and Lamari bridges.
Nali assured Kipefa that his district would receive one bridge.
