Waghi Tumbe primed for finals but Hela Wigmen stand in the way

WEEK two of finals in the Digicel Cup will see Waghi Tumbe face a recharged Hela Wigmen side in the minor semifinal at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby on Sunday (3pm kick-off).
Following their 18-8 win over Rabaul Gurias last week, Tumbe remain as frontrunners to advance into the preliminary final.
However, they have a mammoth task ahead as they prepare to take on an unrelenting Wigmen outfit who shocked Port Moresby Vipers in week one of the finals last weekend.
Rookie Tumbe coach and former SP Hunter Baundo Aba said his side had some work to do on their defence in the middle, however, he remained confident of his side’s chances this week.
“I’m really impressed with my boys and how they performed,” he said.
“There are a lot errors that we’re going to fix in our attacking and defence. They really came together (last week) and our combinations worked and that’s how we came up with the win.”
