A LOCAL level government (LLG) ward-area in Kairuku-Hiri, Central, is preparing to address social, health, law and order issues affecting the people, according to a magistrate.
Laloki Village Court magistrates’ chairman Gabriel Kepas said social, law and order issues were a big problem that affected everyone and would only be improved if addressed at the community level through effective participation.
He said this at the Goldie Barracks community leaders’ awareness on Sunday in the presence of local councillors, village magistrates, PNG Defence Force (PNGDF) representatives and community members from Koairi villages and settlers living in the ward 5 area.
“We are going to have a peaceful community and see infrastructure development if we only improve the law and order issues in our ward area,” he said.
Goldie-Nari ward 5 councillor Benzon Auda, Osabewai ward-one councillor Delira Momo and community leaders urged people to change their behaviours to create a conducive environment for development.
