Winds of change must blow over Parliament

PAPUA New Guinea’s highest legislative house (building) has seen a very good share of “contradictions” since it was built in 1984.

The contradictions are nothing peculiar to Papua New Guinea alone.

Other parliaments around the world have witnessed their fair share of sanity and insanity.

If the Speaker and his team decided that the parliament building needs a makeover with “new symbols and a new atmospheric spirit” that evokes and inspires selflessness, servant hood, truthfulness, freedom and our need for a true God, then let it be.

Any small change towards that goal is welcome. And for that change to start from our Parliament is doubly welcome!

In the last approximately 30 years, “if those carved anthropomorphic human faces that were designed to induce discipline and respect through the psychology of fear and intimidation  have failed to inspire and achieve any semblance of positive virtues, then regardless of our sentimental affinity, they must go.

Idols and graven images have been dismantled and burnt from time immortal.

Demonic symbols and images do matter to God because He is a jealous God whose curse runs through generations.

Ever wondered how culture shapes brains and brains shapes culture?

Read more here from a very good lecture by one of Papua New Guinea’s rare and true friends who has a very close affinity towards our country for 40 years.

Papua New Guinea cannot afford to continue to be conformed to the symbols of bondage and blindness which is of this world but she can make a deliberate choice to be transformed by the renewing of her mind, that she may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2)

House of Parliament must now re-set its spirit to the Spirit of “love and freedom – and unfortunately not one of fear and intimidation anymore for the next 40 years”.

Our ignorant allegiance in peddling these things is also the direct cause of the menace that sorcery and witchcraft is spewing all over the country.

The act of swearing into office, by holding the Christian Holy Bible and entering into the Parliament that is screaming with symbols of idols and images placed at the entrance of the Parliament is one of those clear contradictions. They must be banished.

It’s about time; we placed a big tablet in front of the Parliament saying “In the God of Israel, We Trust and Serve” right where our laws are made.

Heard it somewhere that,” nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending?

If Papua New Guinea has to start anew, then let this be the start of that new beginning with transforming the mind, shaped by the God of the universe and not our beloved culture paradise of our country.

We have been crying for change of attitudes in the biospheres and about every other media outlets out there.
