How silly can this be?
You pay your fare and then spend much of the time pulling the vehicle that you are supposed to be on.
But that is the situation at Lower Lai constituency, at Wapenamanda, in Enga, where the road is so bad vehicles can’t go uphill on their own.
This is the electorate of Minister for Immigration and Trade Rimbink Pato, who must look at the work being put to roads in Port Moresby and wish some of that money was going to fix this.
This road was gravelled about three years ago but nothing had been done since and the gravel had long disappeared down the side of the mountain. The result? Only the brave use it.
Last month, PNG Air started servicing Wapenamanda Airport, but getting there to catch a flight is a challenge the locals face on a road like this every day.
