This is how bad the road conditions along the Morobe’s economic district of Bulolo is right now.
Certain sections of the road are washed away by Bulolo and Kumalu rivers.
Bulolo hosts the Hidden Valley mine, PNG Forest Product, Zenag Chicken, Vitis Industries Ltd, major shops like Jabanardi and hundreds of alluvial miners including government institutions like PNG Forest University, alluvial mining training centre among others.
Besides this, some thousands of coffee and fresh food producers from Menyamya, Watut and Biaru including neighboring Marawaka, interior Obura-Wonenara, Eastern Highlands, use this highway to reach Lae to market their produce daily.
The government assured to repair the road last year.
Yet nothing was done.
Hundreds of PMV trucks, company vehicles, public servants and ordinary people are risking their lives along this so-called highway.
