THREE schools in Samberigi, Southern Highlands, received reading books, stationery and teacher guide books, thanks to the Oil Search Women’s Network (OWN).
A total of 16 cartons of reading materials, including school stationery and teacher guides, were donated to Wemi and Don Mosley Primary Schools and Gobe Agro Secondary School in Samberigi.
Principal of Gobe Agro Secondary School, Thompson Wombulu, acknowledged the kind gesture of OWN.
“Thank you Oil Search Women’s Network for the timely and worthwhile donations, as it would go a long way to educating the children of Samberigi,” he said.
Hilda Steven on behalf of the primary schools said the donations were made possible by women who cared a lot about their education.
“OWN has a heart to share and we should be grateful for the donation so I urge students both male and female to change your attitude towards all women,” Steven said.
Robbie Yekili, Community Affairs Area Supervisor Gobe, challenged students to be proactive and read to broaden their knowledge of the outside world.
