Work together to bring development: Entrepreneur

THE business community, the Western Highlands administration and people should work together to bring development and change to the province, the founder of a training centre says.
Mapex Training Institute chief executive officer Marcus Palem Kara said this on Monday during the official opening of the institute’s Mt Hagen campus.
Kara said the provincial government needed to recognise and support training centres such as his as it served an important purpose in the province by providing an avenue for youths and community members to be trained in various technical fields.
He said the private sector was a major development partner of the provincial administration and there needed to be cooperation.
“We all need to cooperate and develop the province and such private institutions need the political support as well as from the business houses,” he said.
“We have to cooperate and unite and see how we can drive in development and changes.”
Kara said Mapex had 10 branches throughout the country including the Mt Hagen campus.
“I have been taking part in the opening ceremonies of the other nine branches where the political head of the province was present because that was development,” he said.
“This is where we will need the political heads in the province to participate and witness the establishment.”
“If the Government intends to establish an institution, it can cost a lot and takes time but the private sector is doing its best to help.”
