Youth commits to preach

Norman Trevor

SINCE 2017, Norman Trevor has served as a vessel of change and hope, spreading the gospels of the bible in the streets of Port Moresby, bringing ease and conviction to everyday people’s lives.
The 22-year-old of Central and Gulf heritage started at the age of 16 and his journey has brought a sense of purpose to his life.
“I started preaching with friends that I went to church with at settlements in Manu and Hohola.
“People that had sicknesses or worries would come and listen and some for prayers. I realised the preachings gave them comfort so I knew then this was what God wanted for me,” he said.
To ensure his messages reached a wider audience, he went in front of bus stops, markets, and settlements, travelling all corners of the city, emphasising on peace and God’s purpose for everyone.
There were certain hardships he faced like sometimes sleeping on the streets with no food or money.
Hardest of them was when Trevor and his two other friends travelled to Oro to preach under his Christian Revival Church ‘One in Christ’ ministry.
“We walked the Kokoda track with only 12 biscuits. On the way, it rained and we had no proper roofing under our heads and also a fire to keep us warm in the night,” he said.
They eventually made it to Popondetta and thanks to God’s grace, the people welcomed them.
“The experiences I have had only fuel my desire to continue with God’s plans for me,” he said.
His plans for 2024 include travelling to more provinces in the country and eventually overseas to continue with his work.
